Street photography has always fascinated me in the unique way that it allows to capture candid moments as they happen. Especially during less-than-perfect light situations, needing you to go down in shutter speed and thus adding blur. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but usually conveying the right amount of motion and spontaneity of the moment when the photo was taken.

I wanted to transfer the same gritty, honest and imperfect look onto a professional, Peter Lindbergh inspired, photoshoot and keeping onto a as-simple-as-possible-set-up:

  • shooting on the street to fit the topic

  • the make-up focuses on having the most effect in the right places, rather than being center piece

  • one strobe with a beauty dish to add some depth and contrast during a very cloudy and rainy day
